Tilia Festival Starts With Aniar (Updated)

The Tilia festival was opened last friday by the Irish band Aniar. Band members Joe Thomas, Tracey Kelly, and Nuala Maguire played their versions of Irish and Scottish traditionals, with support of Hal Parfitt Murray on fiddle. Joe explained that somehow the songs are mostly about people who are dead, men in love with a woman they can't get or drinking ;o) Anyway, the concert was a great opening of the festival, that continues saturday with concerts of Sinead Madden and Norland Wind and on sunday with Kieran Goss. Tickets are still available at willemros@hetnet.nl, the Hajé restaurant Heerenveen or at the cafe Onder de Linden, Aengwirderweg Luinjeberd (phone 0513-529010).
Update: The concert of Sinead Madden has been cancelled.
